So, I always get amused at hearty new year greetings right after the year begins. Folks are cheerful, happy to see each other with hugs all round. They reminisce about the year gone by, discuss plans and expectations for the new year etc. And it feels like the people exchanging greetings haven’t seen each other in months, maybe years. Never mind that they bid each other good bye just a couple of days back, sometimes just the one day-Jan 1. There’ll be more discussions if either one was away for the entire Christmas break. And it always warms my heart, listening to the lively chatter going on. Why lie, I find pleasure in simple things in life, and so this morning was no different listening to my colleagues. And I couldn’t help but smile. And I ended up getting excited about the year up ahead. What will it be like? What will I accomplish? What will change? Will that prayer be answered this year? What do I need to change this year, if any? Simple bliss.
Happy New Year Friends! Praying it turns out to be all that, and then some.
