So recently while out and about, I purchased this really beautiful little basket that I absolutely loved. I didn’t know how I was going to use it, but it was so beautiful that I couldn’t just pass it up. So back home last week, I decided to put it on my coffee table, with sweets and chocolates for my guests; and made a mental note to keep it filled :). I went ahead and loaded it with goodies, and I must say that it looked good ;).

So the next day I get home and the basket is almost empty. Huh? As I stand there looking at the basket puzzled, wondering where the goodies went.  I live alone … my amazing helper, Colleta, was home that day but I KNOW that she didn’t take the goodies.  Why?  Colleta is the kind of person that if I call her and ask her to bring for me vegetables worth Kes. 200 and I will refund her, when I leave the 200 bob on the kitchen table the next day, she will not take it.  When I call her after getting home to ask her why she didn’t take the money? She will tell me there wasn’t a note to say the money belonged to her! So I have learnt to leave notes whenever I want her to take something home.  And that morning I had left some chocolates anyway, with a note for her to take them home.  So I knew she didn’t take what was on the coffee table. At this point I am buffled, because I KNOW that I put goodies in the basket, so how did they grow legs… and to where?

the near empty basket

A little while later a light bulb goes off… my sister Mona!!! Of course, she must have come to my place and taken the goodies. That makes a lot of sense, and I relax knowing that I am not going crazy after all.  But, a nagging feeling makes me send her a text to ask if she was at my place that day? She responds “Aii, no, why?” And I am back to square 1. What on earth happened to the goodies? A search is running at the background of my mind, the window is minimized… what happened to the goodies? A few minutes later I get a hit!  OMGosh, of course!!! You see, I am attending a few classes with a bunch of lovely people, and that morning I got this bright idea to take the goodies to them!  And I near emptied the basket, and took the goodies to my classmates!!! LOL! How now, did I forget that whole process???  That, my friends, is still a mystery…
