So I run in the morning. And as much as I vary my routes it’s inevitable to repeat routes. After a while some faces become familiar and depending on which route I am on, I know what/whom to expect. And I realize even depending on the time, I know which people I usually see at certain times. Before long there are people that I wave to heartily because we practically know each other lol. And then there’s this biker I meet on one of the routes and we always salute ‘hello’ as we cross each other’s path. There’s also a vehicle I have come to recognize though I have no idea who’s behind the wheel hahahaha. This dude always honks and flashes his headlights at me. I guess I am the famiiar jogger along his route 😊.
And so a while back, cruising down a slope in Runda I see this dude pushing his bike up the hill, looks vaguely familiar and I am wondering where I have seen him? Mmhh… Anyway I pass as I run merrily along. Fast forward, and some runs later I see him as I am cruising down the slope on Thigiri Ridge Road. He’s pushing his bike up the hill. Now I know he’s the face from the other day but where do I know him from before that? I have no earthly idea! And he becomes a familiar face along both routes. I kinda just give him a look, and him likewise but no greetings are exchanged 😂.
A few months pass by, and recently while I was out in Loresho, cruising down the slope, lo and behold! I see the same dude pushing his bike up the hill!!! What??? What are the chances seriously??? First of all, he comes this far?! And still going because he clearly hasn’t reached his destination 😂. Because coming to think of it, he’s usually going in the same general direction… if I connect the dots. And second of all, how is it that when we meet, I am cruising downhill and he’s pushing his bike up the hill 😂😂. Every time we meet. On different routes, no less ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. And this time probably from the sheer surprise of crossing paths so far from ‘home’, we both shout ‘hello’ simultaneously. Very interesting. Small world, indeed! And that’s probably why he was familiar the first time I noticed him. He probably was a face I saw subconsciously along my runs… until the day I noticed him. And such random acts make my day as I run…
