..so last Friday I set out from Westlands to meet a friend for dinner at the Junction. I had a half hour lead time, which I knew was more than enough time to get there. As I approached Waiyaki Way I noticed there was a traffic jam on the highway. “Bright me” decided to use the back route to avoid traffic. As I weaved my way through, I reached a place where many many cars were turning right [I was less than 5 minutes away from Waiyaki Way at this point]. I thought, being a quiet residential area, that many cars could not be heading home. There must be a short-cut I do not know about, so I followed them. I discovered where Loresho Ridge is [in glee-been wondering about that] and a few other places been hearing about lately. However, when I finally joined W.W., I realised I was barely 10 meters from where I would have joined, had I not gone exploring, nktest! Plus, I had overshot the turning point. I was at Kangemi! Anyway, still feeling upbeat, I drove down, made the exit to take me to Kabarserian Drive. Somehow [still don’t understand how??] I missed the turning and ended up back at Kangemi!!! Like seriously! By this time I decide that I am better off driving on to Uthiru and coming back to the Junction through Naivasha Road; which I thought would work faster. Somewhere on Naivasha Road, I realise I had forgotten about Matatu Madness point, where Matatus simply block the road picking up/dropping off passengers. This forms a really big snarl up, and so I am stuck there for a while. I let my friend know I am on the way, and it hits me at this point that I do not know where, at the Junction, we are meeting. I ask her for this info as well. Finally, 1 and a half hours later, I reach the Junction! It is at this point that I check my phone for venue, and I do not recall where the Chinese place, near Monarco, is at the Junction, which is where my friend said we were meeting. So, I call her for clarification and just as she answers it occurs to me that our meeting place may not be at the Junction! And true, we were meeting at Valley Archade-she said!!! What??? Worse still, she informs me that I had picked the meeting place! How now, did I forget that? Needless to say, I made my way to Valley Archade. If you’re not familiar with these places, Valley Archade is 15 minutes drive away from Westlands, where my journey began! Lord have mercy on me, for real…
