I) So yesterday I was to have dinner with a friend who’s been out of the country. I needed to confirm the time, which I guessed would be 6:30 pm or 7pm. But in the busy-ness of the afternoon in the office, I forgot. I left work later than usual and went straight home on auto pilot. I settled in … and decided to sit for a few minutes and just breathe … before I decide what’s for dinner. Time check: 7 pm. and in those quiet moments as I was thinking of dinner options, a bulb went on! X! OMGosh, I had a dinner date! I called her, she was at dinner already and had assumed I wasn’t coming because she hadn’t heard from me. I was about 15-30 minutes away from her, depending on the traffic. I apologized profusely and told her I was on the way. I thank God for gracious friends who understand me. It ended well and we had a really good time at dinner.

II) So 2 weeks ago Dudu (my pretty little car ;)] needed some work done, so my brother & I visited a garage belonging to one of his friends. We chatted with the manager, who then did an assessment and let us know what needed to be fixed. Yesterday I spoke with a contact of the said friend on the phone about picking Dudu up from work this morning to be serviced. He was quite friendly and helpful, and I was impressed by his customer care. When the dude showed up this morning, we chatted like old friends, and I was quite impressed about that. Then I mention to him that when we visited the garage, we dealt with a different person, and I had a follow up question to the person. Dude looks at me in surprise and says he was the one we had dealt with. What??? No way, I tell him, the guy had really long and neat dreads. He says it was him alright, he had cut his dreads!!! He thought I had recognized him throughout our conversation LOL! In my defense, he CUT his dreads hahahaha. Though truth be told, looking at him I was like, I have never seen this dude a day in my life…
